September 2021 Faculty Spotlight
Dr. Brennan Thompson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Science. His education includes, Weber State University, Utah State University, and Oklahoma State University. Prior to working at USU he worked as a faculty member at Texas Tech University and co-directed the muscular assessment lab.
In 2015, Dr. Thopmson returned to USU as a faculty member. He teaches multiple courses within the Kinesiology graduate programs, these include:
- KIN 6810 - Research methods in Health Sciences
- KIN 6480 - Advanced Neuromuscular Exercise Physiciology
- KIN 6200 - Biophysical Aspects of Physical Activity
Currently at USU, he also serves as the lab director for the neuromuscular lab. His research focuses on discovering optimal stategies to improve neuromuscular health and function in occupational and aging populations. He is involved in many different research projects. Through his research he is able to supervise and mentor many students as they work on their own projects and other current research projects happening in the department.
