Scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year are now available
Conway L. and Rula H. Maughan Scholarship
This scholarship is for students majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy studies, who have maintained a 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate a desire to further studies at the graduate level in a related field.
Dale O. Nelson Scholarship
This scholarship is for students with a major in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Department. Students are eligible for this scholarship if they have attained high scholarship, demonstrate ethical standards, and are involved in Department, University, and/or community activities.
Mary Jane Faylor Scholarship
This scholarship is for junior female students majoring in Health, Physical Education, or Recreation who have attained high scholarship, ethical standard, and are involved in departmental, campus, and community activities.
Raymond J. Foley Scholarship
Recipients should be students majoring in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Department who demonstrate financial need who would not likely be able to afford college without additional funding. Preference will be given to student athletes who have demonstrated perseverance in the face of difficult challenges.
H.B. and Ethel Hunsaker Scholarship
This scholarship is for students majoring in the Health, Physical Education, or Recreation Department who have attained high scholarship, ethical standard, and are involved in departmental, campus and community activities.
John Kras Scholarship
This scholarship is for a Physical Education/Teaching Major with preference given to a junior or senior level male student with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The student's main focus should be on teaching physical education in the public school system.
Richard "Dick" Motta Scholarship
This scholarship is for junior or senior students majoring in Physical Education Teaching, with a Coaching Emphasis. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and personal integrity.
This scholarship is for Parks and Recreation majors who have completed their junior year. Applicants need to demonstrate involvement in professional associations, clubs in the parks and recreation field, and show potential as a future professional.
Applicants must be majoring in one of the following fields: Community Health with a minimum 3.5 GPA, Exercise Science with a minimum 3.5 GPA, Parks and Recreation with a minimum 3.0 GPA, and/or Pre-Physical Therapy with a minimum 3.5 GPA. The minimum GPA should be a cumulative average between all transcripts, including transfer schools, and first and second bachelors degrees. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
Ted and Marge Seeholzer Scholarship
This scholarship is for junior or senior students majoring in Physical Education Teaching and planning to be a physical education teacher.
Thomas A. and Kathleen Stewart
This scholarship is for students majoring in Pre-physical Therapy rehabilitation, demonstrate a financial need, display leadership skills, and maintain a 3.0 GPA. This scholarship will be awarded bi-annually with the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation.
